Minimum Wage: Labour Submits Record of Meetings to PMB

As plans for the industrial strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the United Labour Congress (ULC), thickens, the organised labour on Monday in Abuja,  submitted meeting records and proceedings of the National Minimum Wage Negotiation Tripartite Committee to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.

The organized Labour submitted all the meeting proceedings of the Committee including the resolution to have N30,000 as the proposed new minimum wage to the President.

It was also gathered that the Presidency had demanded the proceedings of the negotiation team when Labour embarked on strike immediately the FG suspended the negotiation meeting.

Sources claim that the FG was advised by the organised labour to stop being the mouthpiece of state governors in the negotiation.

NLC has threatened to embark on strike effective 6th of November if the issues at stake remain unresolved.
